For four generations, family company Jean Dubost, founded in 1920 and based in Viscomtat, in the Thiers region - the capital of French cutlery, has manufactured kitchen knives and flatware with the purest respect for French tradition. A know-how of excellence, which combines both tradition and innovation, rewarded and recognised with the “EPV“ Living Heritage Company label since 2012. Jean Dubost is committed to preserving local employment, passing on his know-how to future generations, and maintaining its historic partnerships. Our values of social responsibility, environmental preservation and strong territorial anchoring have enabled us to obtain the "Committed CSR, confirmed level" label issued by AFNOR certification.

With its range of products which are 100% produced in Thiers, in France, Jean Dubost contributes to the preservation of local employment with well-preserved traditional French know-how and a very reasonable carbon footprint. Grinding, polishing, sharpening, shaping, etc. The same steps will soon have been repeated for a century, precisely and delicately, in order to provide these products of excellence with all of their quality.

Our company has been able to preserve its traditional cutlery-making know-how since 1920, but it has also modernised, making significant annual investments in latest-generation, digitally-controlled production machinery. The “local” approach of cutler Jean Dubost also applies to its choice of toolmaking partners. Our machinery comprises machines made by companies local to the Thiers area. Jean Dubost thus contributes to safeguarding regional employment.

Local suppliers

In the same way, the (wooden or cardboard) cases which package our products are manufactured by local partners located within a 10 km range of our workshops. Our shipping containers are also locally manufactured.
